Paton and Baldwins beehive knittingwool holders

Hi,
i recently started collecting bakelite ( an early type of plastic, manufactured from the turn of the century to 1960s ) items and came across a number of knittingwool holders made from bakelite. Some are circular and in dark colours but I quickly became attracted to a beehive shaped style, made in pastel colours, by a British company called NB ware under license from Paton and Baldwins. I desparately need to find out more about these woolholders and hope that someone out there can help.
cheers,
Tony

Hi Tony Wilson
Beehive shaped knitting wool holders were made by NB Mouldings, a company established in 1932 in Holloway, London. It was then known as Junction Moulds & Tools. They moved to Dunstable in 1948. Their holders come in many colours, not just pastel shades.
Bakelite holders were also made by BEX and U-Plas. These companies also made knitting pin boxes. Contact me if you need to know more about collecting Bakelite knitting accessories - I'm an obsessive collector!
Yours Sheila Williams
